Budget Global Labor Premium Dollars
Labor premiums—such as overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and special pay—are driven by job role and pay type, rather than by a single department. Labor premiums can fluctuate based on staffing shortages, volume changes, or labor agreements.
The 23 Budget Global Labor Premium Dollars (Global Labor Premium Dollars) driver provides a centralized way to budget labor premium costs—such as historical prior year actuals, current year budget, and current year YTD data—across departments by job code and pay type, without entering the dame premium values in multiple plan files.
TIP: Use a GlobalPremium filter to import data into the driver. The source for the data is the Act_Pay27 and Bud_Pay12 tables. You can save the budget values back to the BudgetXXXX(NY Budget Year)_GlobalLaborPrem table.
You can decide to enter one or both of the following options:
-
Current year projected dollar amount for the remaining year
-
Next year budget dollar amounts for periods 1-12 for a specific department, jobcode, and paytype combination
NOTE: The driver populates using historical data from prior- and current-year actual tables and the current year budget table.
To add new Department and Jobcode combinations to the driver, use the insertion link at the bottom of the Pay Type section before you save the driver. When you add a new Dept/Jobcode combination to a PayType section of the driver , the following salary tabs in a plan file are automatically updated with the new account using the GlobalPremium calculation method:
-
Staffing
-
Employee
-
Jobcode
